K. Dawn-Dumas is a Detroit, MI native, splitting her time in The D and NYC as a freelance writer, producer, actor, print model, and website builder.

At the tender age of 4, K. began budding as a performer when her elementary school put up their very own theatrical rendition of the Civil Rights Movement.

She made the decision to study acting and make a career out of her craft at 15 while she attended the illustrious Cass Technical High School. With the care and guidance of drama instructor Marilyn McCormick, K. began to realize her passion more and more - having the opportunity to act in shows such as Hairspray, Sister Act, and RENT, along with many other devised works and children's productions.

After high school, K. chose to continue her education in her hometown at Wayne State University and pursue a BFA in Acting. There, she was afforded numerous opportunities to improve her craft, being cast in phenomenal roles such as Emily in Our Town, Gerda in The Snow Queen, and Nia from In the Red and Brown Water. Studying in Detroit allowed her the chance to act as the lead in her first Equity showcase at the Detroit Repertory Theatre in the show Roaming Charges by Ralph Accardo.

K. also had the opportunity to study at the world-renowned Moscow Art Theatre School, where she was able to learn what it truly means to be an "actor who moves well".

Kristin's debut "short-short", The Discussion, premiered in December of 2016 under her production company Masego Productions. Since then, she has done production and acting work on other short films, including the psychological thriller Think and the neo-noir drama SHERWOOD.
